I am so ridiculously backed up with music. Looking at my inbox raises the anxiety level by around 300%, which is not good right upon returning from a fucking vision quest. It was a nice three week journey. I learned a lot about U.S.A./Mexico border towns, swimming pools, military bases, rock and roll festivals, mountain towns, old friends, new friends, vintage Schwinn bicycles, Colorado beer, very good weed, churches that worship peyote buttons, and negligent drivers from Ohio — who insist passing in the right lane. Enough of the boring excuses on why no one has gotten any free music in almost two weeks…Lets get down to business.
Outputmessage dropped his first EP of three a couple months back. It was great, and if you didn’t get it the first time round go here. This one was first on my 15 volume road trip mixtape, and I’m pretty sure Iowa farmer dude next to me at the gas station was giving this joint head nods. For his newest EP “Resurface and Glintz”, Outputmessage has reworked two tracks from his 2006 release “Nebulae”–fantastically, if I may add — We’re gonna give you a taste of the EP with the lead one “Resurfaced” — which is stuffed with layered harmonies, and vocal track that will melt your f….–to cliche– but fuck it…it will melt the skin right off the bones. This song has even caught the eyes of the Apple people, who chucked it on the Noteworthy Electronic section of their little music store. So when you have a hot track like this one, might as well get one of the hottest local producers to remix the shit out it…which he did. DC remix-mystro, Nacey gives the track a loungy feel, but doesn’t let it get big-city-cocktail-hour-boring. He picks up the kick drum just enough to make sure those ladies spill there drinks all over their expensive dresses. Have I convinced you? Now go out and buy this record.
