I’ve always been a little jealous of folks who got to experience the whole Madchester scene back in the late eighties/early nineties. Unfortunately I was only ten years old at the time and rocking out to Ugly Kid Joe CD’s, plus I grew up about a million miles away from the mayhem filled nights at the Hacienda. Luckily, somewhere along the way I gained an appreciation for the music coming out on Factory Records, so I was pretty happy when I got this little gem from Nottingham DJ, Santero, who takes it back a couple decades with this homage to one of the best music scenes to grace the planet with his new track “Reminisce”. Taking the classic Madchester pipe organ and pulsing back beat, he gives us a taste of this crazy episode in music history. In addition to this track he’s also done an edit of the classic Robin S track “Show Me Love”, mashed over a nice garage beat from Wookie. What can I say? I’m a sucker for the Garage.
