While, personally its been a huge part of my musical education, dancehall can’t claim itself as the most accessible musical genre for everyone.  Controversial subject matter, the constant re-appropriation of riddims…and consistent comments from people usually along the lines of, “Oh, you mean reggae.” This track may not convert all the naysayers, but I think it will change the opinions of a quite a few.  Swiss DJ duo, Talen, has teamed up with Jamaican dancehall legend, Sizzla to drop a blend of dancehall, electro, and rock.  It reminds me of the Teddybears stuff from a few years back; but less pop driven, and much harder.  The track we give you today, “The Vibes – A Sizzla Tale”, the A-side of the groups debut EP, “Kingston Book”; slotted for an October 23rd release on Mouthwatering Records.  The B-side features a track with another Jamaican music legend, Cutty Ranks, plus remixes from Stereotyp and Markus Kienzl.  As an added bonus they’re dropping this beast on vinyl and there’s not much better than a Sizzla vocal dropped through an analog sound system.
